It did seem large at first but upon consideration, I understand that room provides future upgradability. Performance is good.many times the graphics abilities built into my Mini. This was only apparent to me because I'm using it with a silent Mac Mini. The eGPU enclosure has a built-in power supply so only a standard 3-prong power cable connects the unit to power (no external large power brick.) The unit is near-silent at idle but there is a little fan hum if you listen closely.

The AKiTiO enclosure is extremely well built and provides both the power and cooling requirements for a more powerful graphics card upgrade at a later date if needed. The card must be inserted in the eGPU enclosure which is a simple plugin that requires no tools. While both units are shipped together they are in their own individual packaging.
